The course provides an insight into the NVH simulation of a powertrain in RecurDyn.

  • The course provides an insight into the NVH simulation of a powertrain in RecurDyn. In addition to the different modelling of the structural components (rigid body / FE approach / reduced FE approach) you will be shown how to simulate powertrain specific components with the RecurDyn functions Gear/GearKS/BearingKS. See how you can evaluate the noise emitted from the powertrain by the usage of the RecurDyn Post Acoustic Tool.

RecurDyn/GearKS provides an intuitive Gear Modeler and built-in KISSsoft UI for gears. It supports Spur, Helical, and Planetary Gear, enabling analyses with detailed gear geometries. It predicts accurate Transmission Errors through theory-based contact specialized for gears. RecurDyn/BearingKS provides Intuitive Bearing Modeler to generate and simulate 15 different types of bearings. It also provides bearing database of 8 global brands and bearing creations with user-defined parameters are now available.

Day 1: Introduction to multi-body simulation with RecurDyn

    • Creation of rigid body models
    • Use of constraint conditions / forces / contacts
    • Use of substructures and parameters
    • Introduction to flexible multi-body simulation (FE-MKS)
    • Creation of finite element meshes
    • Reduction of FE bodies

Day 2: Drivetrain Simulation with RecurDyn

    • Modelling of the drivetrain spec. components
